Get ready for a new on-screen pairing and this one for sure will shock you. Akshay Kumar and Ananya Panday are coming together for ‘The Untold Story Of C Sankaran Nair’. The movie backed by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions is being directed by Karan Singh Tyagi.
However, the catch here is, that this new fresh on-screen pairing will not be romancing. Akshay Kumar will actually be playing the role of a mentor to Ananya Panday in the film. This film is going to be a biographical drama which will explore the mentor-pupil relationship.
Akshay is all set to play the role of C. Sankaran Nair. For the unversed Sankaran played a very important role in challenging the British Empire in a case related to the Jallianwala Bagh massacre.
Both Akshay and Ananya are set to play the roles of lawyers in the firm. Akshay will be portraying a senior lawyer whereas Ananya according to the media reports will be portraying the role of a young and new lawyer, who will be seeking guidance from C. Sankaran Nair.
C. Sankaran Nair, an ex-president of the Indian National Congress and a member of the Viceroy’s Executive Council, takes centre stage in this narrative adapted from Raghu Palat and Pushpa Palat’s book, ‘The Case That Shook The Empire.’ Raghu Palat, the great-grandson of C. Sankaran Nair, is involved in this project, which was announced in June 2021 and is presently in the production phase.
At the same time, a viral video recently circulated on social media showcasing Ananya Panday donning a lawyer’s attire, providing a glimpse of her character from ‘The Untold Story Of C Sankaran Nair.’This viral video of Ananya has left fans eager for more details about the film.
On the work front, Akshay Kumar last starred in Tinu Suresh Desai’s ‘Mission Raniganj: The Great Bharat Rescue,’ released in October. The movie recounted Jaswant Singh Gill’s heroic endeavours in rescuing miners trapped in a flooded mine in Raniganj back in 1989. Alongside Akshay, the film featured Parineeti Chopra, Kumud Mishra and Pavan Malhotra. The film is currently available for streaming on Netflix.
Meanwhile, Ananya Panday is all set for the release of ‘Kho Haye Hum Kahan,’ a buddy romantic drama scheduled to stream on Netflix starting December 26. The star cast also includes Siddhant Chaturvedi and Adarsh Gourav alongside Ananya.
