Ayodhya: Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath on Monday expressed that the 500-year-old dream of Indians for a Ram temple in Ayodhya has finally come true. Speaking in Ayodhya after the consecration ceremony, he noted it was unprecedented for a community to struggle for so long to establish their God’s rightful place. Referring to the past struggles, he assured that there won’t be any curfews or firings in Ayodhya now.
Yogi Adityanath, who was present during the ceremony performed by PM Narendra Modi, stated that the entire India has become like “Ayodhya Dham.”
Describing Narendra Modi as the world’s most popular leader, Yogi Adityanath recalled a tragic event in October 1990 when 17 people lost their lives in two separate shootings in Ayodhya. Reflecting on the sacrifices made for the temple, he acknowledged the significant loss of lives during that time.
“Probably it is the first occasion when a majority had to struggle for so long to get their Lord a rightful place in his birthplace,” he said.
Yogi Adityanath also said the temple had been built where they wanted.
“The temple has been built where we had resolved to build it,” he said.
“There are some feelings in my heart that I cannot find words to express. Everyone is emotional and happy. On this historic moment, every city and village in the country has turned into Ayodhya, and every path seems to be heading towards the Ram Janmabhoomi,” said the UP CM.
The Supreme Court of India, in its 2019 verdict, declared evidence supporting the existence of a Hindu place of worship at the disputed site. The court mandated authorities to allow the construction of the temple on the contested grounds. Furthermore, it directed the allocation of a separate piece of land to the Muslim side for the construction of a mosque.
