Running a Reverse Image search on the viral image, the NM team traced a post by @BluntIndianGal, dated March 21, 2024, featuring a comparable picture of Kohli engrossed in his phone, accompanied by a caption: “Can you guys decode what is Kohli scrolling in his phone👀.”
Upon comparing the viral image with the photograph of the cricketer shared by @BluntIndianGal, it becomes evident that a screenshot from Rahul Gandhi’s press conference was digitally inserted into the widely circulated picture.
We also discovered that the same photograph was posted by a verified fan page of Kohli on Facebook, ViratGang, on March 21, 2024, along with a caption: “Virat Kohli chilling before the shoot for Jio advertisement commence. 😊” The original photo was shared by multiple Kohli fan pages on March 21, 2024, while the edited version with the caption, “Virat Kohli watching RG’s PC yesterday” appeared on Facebook and X on March 22, 2024.
Therefore, we can clearly state that the viral photograph of Viral Kohli watching Rahul Gandhi’s press conference has been digitally edited.
