Gurgaon BJP leader shot dead by husband on grounds of infidelity

On Saturday evening, a woman BJP leader was allegedly shot dead by her husband, on grounds of infidelity.

Munesh Godhara, state secretary of the BJP Kisan Morcha, was talking to her sister via a video call on Saturday evening when her husband, Sunil Godhara, allegedly opened fire at her from his licensed revolver. As per police sources, he suspected her of having an illicit relationship.

The FIR has been registered in Gurgaon’s Sector 10-A police station.

As per Subhash Bokan, Gurgaon Police public relations officer, “The accused shot her twice on her chest while she was engaged in a video call with her sister. The victim died on the spot.” The husband is an ex-serviceman, who works in a private company as a security officer.

After shooting at his wife, the accused fled from the scene. A case has been registered against him but his whereabouts are still unknown.
Further investigations are underway and the police is looking for evidence to find Sunil Godhara.

The two, Munesh and Sunil, were married since 2001. In 2013, she joined the BJP as ‘Mahamantri of women wing’, gradually moving up the ladder to become the state secretary of BJP Kisan Morcha.

As per reports, Munesh’s family has denied all the allegations about her illicit relationship.
