Arunachal Pradesh legislature to go paperless

The Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh Pema Khandu announced on Monday that the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly has gone paperless.

This is part of a project named the e-Vidhan project undertaken by the state legislatures across India and e- sansad project in the Parliament, both being a part of digital India.

This is expected to bring benefits to not only the environment but also that of the functioning of the Legislatively Assembly.

The Assembly will be able to digitize their functioning, including decisions and debates and bills under consideration.

This will provide better decision making which also be quicker.

Himachal Pradesh in 2015 was the first state in India to have gone paperless.
