Congress leader Rahul Gandhi took to his Twitter account to tweet a ‘Give up hatred, not social media accounts’ in response to PM Modi’s tweet.

While the reason for PM Modi’s assertion is not clear yet, social media is full of theories as why PM Modi is likely to quit social media, some of which being that he could have felt discomforted by the manner in which social media has been used to promote hate or enmity and was trying to send a message by considering to give up social media altogether or even that PM’s tweet could have something to do with Women’s Day..

Prime Minister Modi has over 53 million followers on Twitter, over 44 million followers on Facebook and over 35 million followers on Instagram.
