‘We Need Not Be So Thin-Skinned’ Says Shashi Tharoor Over EAM Jaishankar’s Remark

Date:

New Delhi: Congress leader Shashi Tharoor on Monday while reacting to the ‘West’s bad habit’ remark urged External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar to “cool a little bit”.

Lok Sabha MP Shashi Tharoor responding to the remark made by EAM S Jaishankar said that “I have known him for a long time and consider him as a friend but on this issue, I think we need not be so thin-skinned,

He further advised him and added “I think it’s very important that as a government we take something in stride. If we react to every comment, we are doing ourselves a disservice. I will strongly urge my friend Jai to cool a little bit”.

Earlier on Sunday, S Jaishankar at an event said that “the West thinks it has a God-given right to comment on internal matters of other countries.” The comment was made on the recent statement by US and Germany on the disqualification of Rahu Gandhi as MP from Lok Sabha.
