Jethmalani to defend Kejriwal in defamation suit

New Delhi: After Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley filed a defamation suit against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and five of his party colleagues on Monday, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Government approached former BJP law minister Ram Jethmalani to contest Jaitley’s claim.

According to sources, the veteran lawyer Ram Jethmalani would be appearing for Chief Minister Kejriwal.

Earlier in the day, the Finance Minister filed a civil defamation suit of Rs 10 crores against Kejriwal and other AAP leaders in the Delhi High Court.

The Patiala House court on Monday set January 5 as the next date of hearing for the criminal defamation case filed by Jaitley against Kejriwal and other AAP leaders.
