management Udaipur, Aug 23 (PTI) The two-day meeting of Ministersof Disaster Management of BRICS countries concluded here todaywith the adoption of the Udaipur Declaration. "The Udaipur meeting has successfully adopted the UdaipurDeclaration whereby we have resolved to set up a dedicatedJoint Task Force for Disaster Risk Management for regulardialogue, exchange, mutual support and collaboration amongBRICS Countries," Union Minister of State for Home KirenRijiju said. He termed the meeting as a new milestone in collaborationand cooperation among BRICS countries in the field of disastermanagement. He said, "The roadmap for implementation of thethree-year Joint Action Plan (JAP) for BRICS emergencyservices (2016-18) was also finalised. The JAP was agreed uponat the first meeting of BRICS Ministers for DisasterManagement at St. Petersburg in Russia earlier this year." "The meeting has agreed on a road map for implementationof the Joint Action Plan where all of us have resolved to worktogether on exchange of information and experiences ondisaster management, research and technology exchange onforecasting and early warning for floods and extreme weatherevents and capacity building of stakeholders for disastermanagement," he said.
