Now community bans mobiles for girls in UP

Date:

New Delhi: Love jihad as an idea is gaining more and more credence in Uttar Pradesh. A community in Uttar Pradesh has imposed a ban on the use of mobile phones by school girls in order to save them from falling prey to ‘love jihad’. The diktat has been issued by an influential committee of vaishyas, called the Akhil Bharitiya Vaishya Ekta Parishad (ABVEP). While many parties including the Samajwadi Party criticized the decision, parties like Shiv Sena appealed to the government to take more measures to fight ‘love jihad’.
