Maruti Suzuki retains the badge of top car manufacturer, holding 7 OUT OF 10 most selling Passenger vehicles in the fiscal year 2016-17.
According to the data released by SIAM (Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers), Maruti Suzuki India had 6 cars last year under top 10 which increased to 7 this year.

The sales of passenger vehicles has seen a growth by 9.2% this year,
Alto retains the top spot for the 13th year consecutively despite decline from last year. 2,41,635 units were sold as compared with 2,63,422 units last year. Alto is followed by Wagon R and Swift Dezire for the second and third spot.

Swift acquires the 4th spot by dipping one position from last year. Rival Hyundai’s Grand I10 takes on the fifth and Elite I20 takes sixth position. Maruti Baleno seventh while Renault Kwid is 8th. Maruti Vitara Brezza marks its entry into top 10 with 9th position and Maruti Celario is the last on the list.
