Hillary Clinton has been diagnosed with pneumonia, her private doctor declared after the US Democratic presidential contestant fell ill at a 9/11 memorial.
Clinton, 68, has been advised rest and to modify her schedule, as concerns over her health grew after she abruptly left the 9/11 commemoration ceremony at the memorial at Ground Zero in lower Manhattan on Sunday after feeling “overheated”.
Her doctor Lisa Bardack issued a statement on Sunday saying the former Secretary of State has been undergoing a cough related to allergies.
During a follow-up evaluation of her continued cough, “she was diagnosed with pneumonia. She was put on antibiotics, and advised to rest and modify her schedule,” Bardack said.

Bardack added that Clinton became “overheated and dehydrated” at the ceremony. “She is now rehydrated and recovering nicely,”
The Clinton campaign said that the proposed trip to California on Monday or Tuesday has been called off.
She was taken to her daughter Chelsea‘s apartment in the city and appeared on her own about two hours later, wearing sunglasses and speaking with reporters that she was “feeling great.”
