Sugar slips on sluggish demand

Mumbai, Aug 30 (PTI) Prices of both varieties of sugarslipped at the Vashi wholesale market today due to sluggishdemand from stockists and retailers amid ample supplyposition. Small sugar (S-30) declined by Rs 22/7 per quintal toRs 3,600/3,735 from Monday’s closing level Rs 3,622/3,742. Medium sugar (M-30) moved down to Rs 7 per quintal toRs 3,682/3,845 as against Rs 3,682/3,852 yesterday. Following are today’s closing rates for sugar (perquintal) with the previous rates given in brackets: Small sugar (S-30) quality: Rs 3,600/3,735 (Rs3,622/3,742) Medium sugar (M-30) quality: Rs 3,682/3,845 (Rs3,682/3,852).
