Danish Siddiqui Wins Pulitzer Award For COVID Coverage

New Delhi: Journalist Danish Siddiqui was awarded the Pulitzer Prize in best feature photography for his coverage during the COVID pandemic in India. His colleagues Adnan Abidi, Amit Dave, and Sanna Irshad Mattoo also won the Pulitzer Prize 2022 on Monday.

Journalist Danish Siddiqui lost his life in July 2021 while covering the Afghan crisis, in the Spin Boldak district of Kandahar city.

He won the prestigious award for the first time in 2018, for his extensive coverage of the Rohingya crisis. He was working with Reuters where he joined as an intern back in 2010. He was known for his work on conflict coverage during the Hong Kong protests and the Afghanistan crisis.

The Washington Post won the award for public service in journalism for its coverage of insurrection at the US Capitol on January 6.
