Diesel engine derails at Erode Rly station

Erode (TN), Sep 3 (PTI) A diesel engine derailed thismorning at the railway station here, officials said. The engine was being operated for hauling coaches of theTiruchirappalli-bound passenger train and it derailed whileentering the fourth platform at 7.35 AM. Railway officials said the engine was put back on tracksafter two hours. A sleeper rod was damaged following which notrain services operated on the third, second, third and fourthplatforms for more than three hours. Janshatabdi express coming from Coimbatore toMayiladuthurai, the Chennai-bound Westcoast express and theMangalore bound express besides some passenger trains werealso delayed for more than three hours.
