NSCN(K) militants target Assam Rifles convoy

Kohima, Sep 3 (PTI) A convoy of Assam Rifles was ambushedby militants in an area between Ghokishe and Luvishe villagesin Zunheboto district of Nagaland injuring a securitypersonnel. The intermittent exchange of gunfire lasted for aroundhalf an hour yesterday, police said. According to Assam Rifles, their personnel sustained aninjury on his leg and it was not life-threatening. No civilian was injured in the attack, police said. The Khaplang faction of the Nationalist Socialist Councilof Nagaland (NSCN-K) claimed responsibility for carrying outthe ambush and said four Assam Rifles personnel were injured.PTI NBS MMAAR
