State to obwerve Library Day on August 31

Kolkata, Aug 29 (PTI) West Bengal government willcelebrate Library Day on August 31 at a special function wherekids will be administered oath to read books. Minister of state for mass education, library andparliamentary affairs Siddiqullah Choudhury said they arebringing hundreds of representatives to Science Cityauditorium this Wednesday where youngsters will be take oathto read books regularly. "Keeping library at the forefront we want to nurturetalent in the state," Choudhury said. He said this program, organised by the Directorate ofLibrary Services, will be the first one on such a big scale. Various other activities to promote reading will alsobe organised during the event.
