NIA to take over Udhampur attack probe

New Delhi: Day after deadly Udhampur terror attack, the investigation is handed over to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) which is expected to reach Jammu on Thursday.

The team will interrogate the terrorist who was captured on Wednesday in Udhampur, Jammu and Kashmir.

Earlier, on Wednesday, two BSF jawans were martyred in a gun battle where a militant was shot dead. The captured terrorist after the first round of investigation said that he hailed from Faisalabad, Pakistan and had been on Indian soil for the past 12 days.

According to reports, there had been many warnings from the intelligence about a possible terror attack in Udhampur which was a vulnerable spot due to the ongoing Amarnath yatra.
