Lakshya Raichandani has been appointed captain of the side, while Yashbardhan Singh Chauhan will serve as his deputy. The squad was selected by the BCCI’s Junior Cricket Committee.
The team features several promising young players, including Aaryavir Sehwag, VK Vineeth, Kushagra Ojha, Arjun Rajput and Manal Chauhan, as India prepare for the continental competition.
Anvay Dravid and Rajat Baghel have been included as the two wicketkeeping options. The remaining squad members are V. Yashveer, Aryan Savsani, Mohit Ulva, Kavya Patel, Shavin Vinod and Ishan Sood.
India have been placed in Group A alongside arch-rivals Pakistan, the United Arab Emirates and Nepal. Group B comprises Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Malaysia.
The top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals, scheduled for November 12, while the tournament final will be played on November 14.
India will look to put together a strong campaign and secure the continental title as the young players get an opportunity to showcase their talent against some of Asia’s leading Under-19 sides.
