Cristiano Ronaldo continued his pursuit of the 1,000-goal milestone after scoring a hat-trick in Al-Nassr’s 5-3 victory over Al-Kholood in the Saudi Pro League, taking his career tally to 985 goals.
The 41-year-old Portuguese forward delivered a decisive performance in the second half, finding the net three times in a span of 15 minutes to help Al-Nassr secure all three points after the contest had been level at 2-2.
Angelo Gabriel and Sadio Mane were also on target for Al-Nassr, while Portugal international Joao Felix played a key role in the attacking display, providing four assists, including two for Ronaldo.
The treble marked the 67th hat-trick of Ronaldo’s professional career and his seventh since joining Al-Nassr. His remarkable record also includes 44 hat-tricks for Real Madrid, 10 for Portugal and three each during his spells at Manchester United and Juventus.
A five-time Ballon d’Or winner, Ronaldo has won domestic league titles in England, Spain, Italy and Saudi Arabia. He also remains the highest goalscorer in men’s international football.
Ronaldo joined Al-Nassr nearly four years ago and has one year remaining on his current contract. Despite previously suggesting that retirement could be approaching, the forward continues to add to his remarkable scoring record.
The victory keeps Al-Nassr firmly in contention in the Saudi Pro League title race. The defending champions are currently second in the standings, with a game in hand over league leaders Al-Qadsiah.
