PM Modi thanks Prez Trump for providing ventilators

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday thanked US President Donald Trump for sending ventilators to India to help the country in its battle against Covid-19.

“This pandemic is being fought by collectively by all of us. In such times, it’s always important for nations to work together and do as much as possible to make our world healthier and free from COVID-19,” PM Modi tweeted.

These comments come in the backdrop of President Donald Trump’s remark that the US will be donating ventilators to India in its fight against COVID-19.

While no details have officially been released, sources indicated that U.S could be sending 200 ventilators to India to begin with. These could be airlifted sometime later this month or in the beginning of next month.

The two countries are also closely working on the development of a vaccine for pandemic. India has also exported the life saving anti-malarial drug ‘Hydroxychloroquine’ to the US.
