6 booked for forging papers for bail of two cheating accused

Thane, Aug 20 (PTI) Police have booked six persons,including an advocate, on charges of fabricating records andfacilitating release of two accused arrested in a cheatingcase on bail. The advocate and others were booked last night oncharges under IPC related to cheating, forgery and using asgenuine a forged document, among others, police said today. No arrest has been made so far, they said. Giving details of the case, police said two personswere arrested for cheating and were in jail for about onemonth. For release of the duo on bail, the six accusedpersons fabricated papers of guarantors and made a man pose asa policeman and submit reports to the court. They eventuallygot them released on bail, a policeman, Vijay Sanap of SriNagar police station, stated. Sanap said the duo was released on bail on August 4and when he went to verify the documents, they were found tobe fake. Even the signature and stamp on the documents wereforged. PTI CORRSY
