JD Vance Says Trump Administration Has Cracked Down On Visa Fraud, Prioritised American Workers

Date:

Washington, DC: US Vice President JD Vance has defended the Trump administration’s immigration and employment policies, claiming that the government has taken measures to curb visa fraud and protect job opportunities for American citizens as the country votes in the 2026 midterm elections.

In a post on X, Vance said the administration had acted against companies accused of dismissing American employees and hiring foreign workers at lower wages. He maintained that employment opportunities in the United States should primarily benefit its citizens.

Vance highlighted what he described as the administration’s efforts over the past two years to address irregularities in the visa system and strengthen protections for domestic workers. He also reiterated that prioritising American citizens in the employment sector was central to the government’s approach to national sovereignty.

His remarks come as immigration enforcement, visa regulations and domestic employment remain key components of President Donald Trump’s broader economic agenda.

Meanwhile, the 2026 US midterm elections witnessed voting disruptions in parts of North Carolina. According to ABC News, the State Board of Elections extended polling hours at five precincts across four counties following delays caused by technical and other issues at polling locations.

The board clarified that such minor disruptions were not unusual and said election officials would withhold results from the affected districts until voting concluded. The first unofficial results were expected around 8:15 pm local time, against the original polling closure time of 7:30 pm Eastern Time.

In Alaska, Republican Senator Dan Sullivan cast his vote and expressed confidence in his campaign, while criticising Democratic challenger Mary Peltola over allegations involving a spoiler candidate with the same name as him.

Meanwhile, Trump congratulated Republican candidate Tony Ada following projections of a Republican victory in Guam’s gubernatorial election and urged New York voters to support Republican Congressman Mike Lawler.
