A rocket named Falcon 9, exploded on the launch pad at Cape Canaveral, Florida. According to reports satellite exploded during a static fire test of the rocket’s engine. The intensity of the explosion was very high and was audible “several miles away”.
The cause of the blast is still not clear but Nasa said SpaceX was test-firing a rocket which was due to take a satellite into space this weekend.
The 45th Space Wing of US Air Force told The Verge, “There are no known casualties. There’s no threat to public safety and our emergency management teams are on site responding,” the information was given by Bryan Bryan Purtell, a representative for the 45th Space Wing, told The Verge. The unit will provide more updates soon.
Images which are coming from the scene show a huge cloud of smoke rising above the complex.
