Haryana Minister accuses Kejriwal of misleading public

Date:

Adding to Aam Aadmi Party’s woes, Haryana Agriculture and Irrigation Minister O.P. Dhankar on Thursday said that Haryana had not reduced even a drop of Delhi’s water share and that Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal should not mislead people on this issue.

Dhankar said Delhi was claiming that the water level in their water treatment plant had been reduced whereas today [on Thursday] Delhi was found misusing the same water.

As per officers of the Haryana Government, 700 cusec water was released to Delhi from Sonepat through Munak Canal on Thursday and 275 cusec water from Delhi Branch. Out of this, 400 cusec had gone waste in Najafgarh and supplementary drain due to Delhi’s negligence.

The Minister said that Haryana was getting untreated water from Delhi. He suggested that Delhi release treated water in the Yamuna. Moreover, the water which had been released by Delhi was not appropriate for irrigation, he added.

Dhankar said that Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar along with him would meet Union Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh on Friday regarding special package for farmers whose crops were hit by rains and crop insurance scheme.
