Delhi’s government’s Odd and Even numbered logic has raised a lot of eyebrows across the country. On Friday, the Delhi government announced that odd or even numbered cars would ply on Delhi roads on alternate days. The new diktat shall be applicable from January 1, 2016 onwards. The Delhi government also said that this #OddEvenFormula would help in curbing the rising levels of pollution in Delhi.
Delhi Chief Minister had called an emergency meeting on Friday evening to discuss the concern over the killer air in Delhi followed by High Court’s statement-’Living in Delhi is like living in a gas chamber’.
Newsmobile went and asked about ‘how feasible is this odd and even logic’ couple of Delhiites and the ones who travel to and fro Delhi/NCR in their own vehicles everyday. Watchout what these daily travellers have to say about Kejriwal’s new formula:
Will Odd-Even concept curb pollution in the national capital?

The newly appointed Chief Justice of India, TS Thakur, however has a different view altogether. Supporting the Odd or Even numbered formula, Justice TS Thakur said, “Any step taken for reining in the spurt in air pollution has to be appreciated and people should be receptive to such ideas. All is not well with Delhi. We cannot say today whether any particular idea will work or not but we should definitely be open to new ideas if they are aimed at controlling pollution. We can try them and see how they produce results.”
