Martial Arts in Kolhan University, Jharkhand

Date:

In today’s world, we see a bunch of women go through violence and
abuse. To register themselves into classes of defence can be quite
expensive. However, a university in Jharkhand has a different agenda
altogether, for the safety of the women.

The Kolhan University in Jharkhand has decided to make learning
Martial Arts compulsory for all female students. The University has
decided to start this self-defense course in 5 colleges under the
university.

The university is all set to teach women the various kinds and techniques of defending oneself through Martial Arts. The course will be free of cost and it will be applicable next month onwards.

According to University Vice Chancellor, RRP Singh, this move is to
foil sexual crimes against women in society since they will not be
defenceless against attackers anymore. He also added that the students
shall be given certificates upon completion of the courses and that
attendance in the classes shall be necessary for them to take their
final exams.

This is surely a wise move by the university to build the awareness
and strength of women who form the base of every society.
