MP Ravindra Gaikwad booked by Delhi police

Delhi Police on Friday filed an FIR against Shiv Sena MP Ravindra Gaikwad for assaulting Air India staffer over the allocation of seats and due to this six airlines including Air IndiaIndigo, SpiceJet, GoAir and Jet Airways and later Vistara also joined to ban this 56-year-old MP. The airlines stated that “We believe that an assault on any one of our employees is an assault on all of us and on ordinary.

The airlines stated that “We believe that an assault on any one of our employees is an assault on all of us and on ordinary law-abiding citizens of our country who work hard to earn a living,” a joint statement read. “We believe that exemplary action should be taken in such incidents to protect employee morale and public safety.”

The FIR had been filed under section 355: Assault or criminal force with intent to dishonour person, otherwise than on grave provocation, section 308: Attempt to commit culpable homicide and section 353: Assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty.

The MP already has filed a complaint against Air India claiming that the airline has cheated on him. The Member of Parliament from Maharashtra’s Osmanabad said that he is not going to apologise as he was not at fault. “Why will I apologise? They will come and apologise to me.”

“The airlines demand that strict action be taken against the Member of Parliament by law enforcement agencies. We believe that an assault on any one of our employees is an assault on all of us and on ordinary law-abiding citizens of our country who work hard to earn a living,” the statement added.
