Ravi Shankar discards “Contempt of court notice” reports

The Art of Living and Ravi Shankar denies getting any contempt of court notice from NGT on Thursday.
“No notice whatsoever has been issued by the NGT to AOL or Sri Sri. Media reports to the contrary are absolutely false and baseless,” The AOL said.
It was reported that On that Ravi Shankar has been issued notice for contempt of court because he blamed the central government and panel for for damaging Yamuna floodplain.

According to few of the media houses on April 18th Sri Ravi Shankar said”if fines has to be levied, it should be against the government and NGT itself for giving permission to organise World Cultural Festival despite knowing that the Yamuna is so fragile and pure”.

The contempt plea was made by a man named Manoj Mishra in NGT, which was turned down by the court several times.

The AOL took a dig at media houses for wrong reporting and saying that the contempt notice has not been issued by NGT. AOL is asking the media houses that on what basis they published such statement.

Various mainstream media houses reported and alleged that the World Cultural Festival that happened from March 11 to 13 in 2016 has damaged Yamuna and environment massively. Bail of 5 crore has been set to compensate damage till the extra cost of damage is ascertained.
