Amit Shah meets Uddhav Thakrey in Mumbai

Bhartiya Janata Party chief meets Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray on Wednesday in light to reach out to its sulking ally, it happened days after the two parties contested the Palghar elections separately.

Shah will travel to Chandigarh on Thursday to call on Badal and his son, Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Badal, as part of the BJP’s ‘Sampark for Samarthan’ or outreach programme. Shah went to meet Thakrey with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Earlier on Wednesday, Shah met Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit and top notch industrialist Ratan Tata.

Hours before the meeting, the Shiv Sena mouthpiece Saamna criticised its BJP’s outreach programme. the editorial said Shiv Sena would contest the 2019 Lok Sabha elections on its own. Later, taking jibe on BJP, Shiv Sena also said that they are having a global outreach programme when Prime Minister Narendra Modi is out on a world tour and Shah on a domestic tour.
