Mumbai: Oil tanker burst into flames after crash, one dead

Mumbai: A massive fire broke out in Mumbai’s Wadala area on Monday night around 10:45 pm as a large tanker burst into flames crashing underneath the city’s overhead monorail line.

The tanker driver lost his life while the driver of the other vehicle is critically injured.

“The tanker was filled with Methanol and when we reached the spot the tanker had toppled and was on fire. The driver of the tanker was charred to death. The situation is under control now, ” fire officer AH Sawant said.

The incident took place near Bhakti Park in Wadala.

The situation is now under control after five fire tenders successfully extinguished the flames.
