Cong to form Govt in MP, Kamal Nath likely to be CM

With the BSP and SP supremos on Wednesday, extending their support to the Congress in Madhya Pradesh, the 100-year old party has crossed the halfway mark of 116 in the state and will stake a claim to form the government in the state. Senior Congress leader Kamal Nath on Wednesday wrote to the governor staking a claim to the government.

Clearing the way for the Congress the current BJP chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said “We did not get majority, will not stake claim to form Government, I am going to tender my resignation to the Governor.”

“Even though we don’t agree with many of Congress’s policies we have agreed to support them in Madhya Pradesh and if need be in Rajasthan,” BSP chief Mayawati told Mayawati.

She said that the reason behind BSP’s decision to support Congress is that the to keep BJP out of power.
