Big B reveals that he’s alive because of Bal Thackeray; this is what happened in 1982

Bollywood Megastar Amitabh Bachchan recently opened up about the strong bonds he used to share with Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray. The actor who attended the teaser launch of the biopic on the political leader stated that he is alive because of Balasaheb.

Recalling an incident that happened in 1982, when he was injured critically on the sets of ‘Coolie’ while he was shooting in Bengaluru. He was brought back to Mumbai following the same but the stormy weather in the city had made it nearly impossible to find an ambulance. Bal Thackeray then came to rescue as he arranged a Shiv Sena ambulance for the injured superstar.

The veteran actor further narrated several instances revealing the special bond shared by him and the political leader. Reportedly, the actor further stated that he was very close to the political leader and used to respect him a lot.

Big B also recalled the time when Balasaheb had invited him and his wife Jaya Bachchan following their wedding and had welcomed her like he would his own daughter-in-law. Sharing another memory, he said he was surprised to find his picture in Thackeray’s room.

Meanwhile, talking about the upcoming film, ‘Thackeray’ has been making the headlines ever since it was announced. The biopic that narrates the story of Shiv Sena founder Bal Thackeray, featuring Nawazuddin Siddiqui as the iconic political leader. Actress Amrita Rao, who is all set to return to the silver screen after quite a while now, will be featured as Meena Tai Thackeray, wife of the political leader.

The trailer of the film released on December 26 following a launch event in Mumbai amid controversies over the Censor board objecting to certain dialogues in the film. Several celebrities across domains have expressed their views on the upcoming venture on social media. The trailer features Thackeray’s rise from humble beginnings to establish a political party as he felt it was important to get involved with the people to serve the people.

The film has been directed by Abhijit Panse and written and produced by Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut and Shrikant Bhasi along with Viacom Motion Pictures. The movie will hit the screens on January 25, two days after the birth anniversary of Bal Thackeray.
