Fact Checked: This picture is not from Hizbul commander Zakir Musa’s funeral

Date:

A photo of a crowd is being circulated online with a claim that the picture was taken at militant commander of Ansar Gazwatul Hind, Zakir Musa’s funeral.

“See the #ocean of people’s in AGH chief Zakir Musa’s funeral” the caption read.

FACT CHECK

When NewsMobile team Fact checked the claim, we found it to be FAKE.

On putting the image through Reverse Image Search, we found out that the picture was taken in 2011 during the anti-nuclear demonstration in Tokyo, Japan.

A report published in The Australian on September 20, 2011, has used the same image with the caption, “ Tens of thousands of protesters pack a park during the anti-nuclear demonstration to call on Japan’s government to abandon atomic energy in the wake of the Fukushima nuclear accident, in Tokyo, Japan, Monday, Sept. 19, 2011. (AP Photo/Kyodo News) JAPAN OUT, MANDATORY CREDIT, NO LICENSING IN CHINA, FRANCE, HONG KONG, JAPAN AND SOUTH KOREA.

The same picture was also used by HuffPost with the same caption.

This proves that the picture is old and was taken in Japan and NOT at Zakir Musa’s funeral.
