The Kedarnath cave where Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently meditated is now available for rent. The Rudra Meditation Cave is not as rough as it sounds but on the other hand, it is loaded with basic comforts, including a round-the-clock attendant.
The cave was initially set up in 2018 by the Uttarakhand government to cater to pilgrims. The Garhwal Mandal Vikas Nigam (GMVN), which operates the facility, describes it as a “modern meditation cave”. The cave is located one km away from Kedarnath temple and comes with facilities like fresh drinking water, electricity with charging points, bed, morning tea with breakfast, lunch, tea and dinner, a 24×7 attendant who is available at a bell call and facility manager’s number in case of an emergency.
