Pakistani Human Rights Organizations protest and seek PM Modi’s intervention

Date:

The Pakistani Diaspora and other human rights organizations have sought Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s intervention in securing basic human rights and the right to live with dignity in their nation. They organized a protest against the Pakistani armed forces outside the NRG Stadium last Sunday when PM Modi and President Trump addressed members of the Indian community together in an event titled “Howdy Modi”.

Former Mayor of Nazim Town, Karachi city, Arif Aajakia said that no one is safe in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and it has becoming a living hell for all communities including the Mohajirs, Sindhis, Baloch, Pashtuns and kashmiris in the occupied part. He severely criticized the Pakistan Armed forces who have never won a war except against their own people who are referred to as the ‘Cowardly Civilians’.

In recent times, this ‘land of pure’ has becoming the ‘land of living hell’ for its minorities and all non-Punjabi population. It has become a torturous life for the Hindus and the Sikhs living in the nation created on the false pretext of religious intolerance. Hindu and Sikh women are being kidnapped, sexually assaulted, forcibly converted to Islam and then married off.

In recent times, the Pakistani Armed forces have also been using chemical weapons against its own population living in the Pashtun dominated areas, civil liberties are being trampled upon as Section 144 is being imposed even as they shed crocodile tears over actions in Jammu and Kashmir.

The Baloch are facing a wipe out. They have access to neither clean drinking water nor proper educational facilities. Baloch Leader Mehran Marri has also spoken about the forced disappearances and mass murder of Baloch activists who are raising their voice against the actions of the state.

Author and South Asian expert Priyajit Debsarkar terms the Pakistani Army genocidal for its actions in Bangladesh in 1971. Operation Searchlight that was launched by the former occupying Army saw 3,000,000 people mercilessly butchered and about 200,000-400,00 women and children raped and killed. It was the Mukhti Bahini, formed to defend the honour of the Bengali people, assisted by India who gained freedom from the barbaric Army.

In his book, “The Atlantique Incident”, Debsarkar has said that Pakistan has to set its house in order, though wonders which one? The one in Pindi (housing the GHQ) or the one in Islamabad.
