After the record-breaking heat in India, monsoon is making steady progress after arriving in Kerala on June 1, exactly on the day it was predicted to hit the south Indian state. Deputy Director-General of the Indian Meteorological Department, Anand Sharma has said, the monsoon is expected to arrive in Delhi-NCR around June 25. He also said that the situation is becoming favorable for its advance between June 22-24. During this period, the monsoon will arrive in parts of Uttar Pradesh and hilly regions of Himalayas.
Whereas parts of the national capital witnessed heavy rainfall accompanied by strong winds in the early hours of Saturday. Meanwhile, the maximum temperature in the national capital for last Thursday and Friday was 44 and 42 degree respectively, but the rainfall witnessed today brought down the temperature to 36 degree.

Whereas in Maharastra, high tides hit Marine Drive in Mumbai. Police have asked people not to go near the seashore.
After the warnings of thunderstorms and heavy rain in Bihar, the capital of the state Patna saw thunderstorms today for nearly 2 to 3 hours.
On the other hand, after a long wait in Madhya Pradesh, monsoon clouds have entered, bringing rain in many districts including the capital Bhopal. Meanwhile, Bhopal’s 5-year record of heaviest rain in the month of June has been broken by the heavy rains on Yesterday. The state capital Bhopal received more than 3 inches of rain from 8:30 pm to 11:30 pm.

According to the Meteorological Department’s report, the monsoon is expected to move in West Bengal, Sikkim, Konkan-Goa, Karnataka, Kerala in the coming 24 hours.

Along with this, some states of Northeast India can also get some rain. There is a possibility of moderate to heavy rain in parts of Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and Chhattisgarh.

In Punjab, the strong winds today gave people relief from the scorching heat in June. However, the relief was shortlived. According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of thunderstorms on June 24.
