FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the above post and found the claim to be false.

On putting the picture through Reverse Image Search, we found a YouTube video, dated November 20, 2017, featuring the same picture.

In one of the frames, a woman can be seen addressing the crowd. The text on the frame mentions BJP leader Panjaka Munde.

While investigating, we found a post with a series of pictures uploaded on Facebook that included the same picture of the crowd and a picture of Munde with Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The post was published on October 4, 2014, by a Fan Page of Panjaka Munde.

With the help of keywords, we found tweets by ANI and ABP News that Munde addressed a rally along with Shah on October 3, 2014, in Beed, Maharashtra.

NewsMobile could not independently verify the origin of the picture. But, the above information establishes the fact that the picture in question is old as it was already been in circulation on the internet much before the farmers’ protest started in November 2020.
