India To Clash With England In First ODI At Oval

Date:

London: The India tour of England enters the final phase with both sides clashing in the first of three-match ODI series at the Oval ground on Tuesday.

Virat Kohli is likely to miss out on the first ODI game after sustaining a groin strain injury in the last T20 game against England.

Skipper Rohit Sharma and Indian coach Rahul Dravid will have to change the squad dynamics strategically for the longer format.

Shikhar Dhawan is back in the squad and is likely to open with Rohit Sharma in the game. Dhawan has been announced as captain for the upcoming series against West Indies keeping in mind the dynamics of the 2023 World Cup.

Rohit-Dhawan duo is all set to achieve another historic feat as they are just six runs behind reaching the 5000 runs mark as opening pair partner. Earlier the record was held by legendary Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly.

Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja are likely to make the cut in the playing XI. Indian bowling attack is airtight with bowlers getting crucial wickets in the past series.

England will be looking to take up the challenge with new skipper Jos Butler trying to set into the new role. The side will be pretty confident from their performance in the last ODI series against the Netherlands. India will be back after suffering an ODI series loss against South Africa.
