New Delhi: Delhi Police EOW (Economic Offences Wing) questioned actor-dancer Nora Fatehi on Friday in connection with jailed conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar money laundering case.
Nora Fatehi was asked more than 50 questions like what gifts did she receive, who did she talk to, where did she meet them, newswire ANI reports.
She stated that she had no connection with Jacqueline Fernandez and that both of them were speaking with him (Sukesh) individually.
Nora admitted that his (Sukesh’s) wife approached her for a nail art function and subsequently frequently called her. They gave her a BMW and other gifts. She further stated that she was unaware of his criminal history and that he (Sukesh) had conversations with her manager and cousin but very few with her.
Sukesh Chandrashekhar’s wife Leena Maria Paul was later arrested for her role in the scam.
Nora was summoned on September 2 and arrived at the EOW office at Mandir Marg around 11 am, accompanied by her lawyer.
The actress was reportedly questioned till around 8 pm, and is informed that she can be called again for questioning, police sources confirmed.
Earlier, the enforcement directorate (ED) also recorded statements of Fatehi on September 13 and October 14, 2021, where also she acknowledged having received gifts from the alleged conman and his wife Leena. ED had registered a case of money laundering in the alleged scam over the FIR registered by the Delhi Police.
