Running a Google Keyword Search related to Biden’s meeting with Rishi Sunak, we spotted various news articles informing about his visit to Northern Ireland to mark the 25th anniversary of the Good Friday Agreement peace deal.
Checking through more videos on his arrival in Belfast, we found a Facebook post, dated April 12, 2023, on the official account of The Telegraph. The video shows Biden properly meeting Sunak on the Tarmac before saluting the army officer next to him. This indicates that the viral video may have been clipped to remove the part where he was talking to Sunak.
As per the longer version video of Biden’s arrival on the official YouTube channel of Daily Mail, at around 00:19 mark, Biden can be seen meeting with Sunak and shaking his hand, proving that he did not ignore him on his arrival.
Similar videos have been published on the official YouTube channels of The Independent, The Telegraph, and Guardian News as well.
Therefore, we can conclusively say that the viral video, claiming Joe Biden ignored Rishi Sunak, and saluted the army man next to him, on his arrival in Belfast, is false.
