Performing a Reverse Image Search, we identified a YouTube channel carrying the same viral video on July 13, 2019, with a caption: “How to Wear a Saree Simple Steps l Simple Tips to Wear a Saree, Proper Saree Draping Video, Joseph Jerry, the Malaysian Saree man, drape the saree effortlessly within 3 minutes.”
Searching further, we spotted other videos of this man draping a saree to another woman in the same attire. The video, dated May 11, 2019, had the caption: “How I watched Joseph Jerry, the Malaysian Saree man, drape the saree effortlessly within 3 minutes for one of the models during Zobha’s fashion show.”

An image of Joseph Jerry draping a saree on a model was shared on the Instagram page of ‘Starlifestylemy’, along with a message stating that Joseph is an expert at draping sarees and a how-to video will be released soon. Additionally, an article on Rakesh Joseph was published on the news website ‘The Star’.
Thus, it is confirmed that the video of a Malaysian saree draper has been shared with false communal narrative.
