Performing a Reverse Image Search, our team identified a Twitter handle carrying the same viral video, dated July 14, 2022, with a caption: “Karjan Dam overflows! Due to heavy rainfall in #Narmada district, Karjan dam has received an ample amount of water. Due to rainfall in areas on a higher elevation, #Karjan dam started overflowing. This situation has sent waves of panic and distress among citizens. #dam #Overflow”.
Searching further, our team found the same video uploaded on the Facebook page of Gujarat Mirror News on July 14, 2022, with the text: “View of Karjan Dam overflow #gujaratmirror”.
Also, several images of Karjan Dam on Google matche with the viral video.
Thus, it is quite clear that an old unrelated video of the Karjan Dam in the Narmada district is falsely shared as the overflowing Umrethi Dam in Gujarat.
