The video of a woman lying in dirty water with her hands and feet tied is going viral on social media. Many users on social media claim that the husband and mother-in-law of a Muslim woman kept her immersed in water for six days for not having a child. According to the video, the in-laws kept her in water on the advice of Pir Baba, a spiritual figure. However, the whole act was caught on camera when a man arrived at the scene, recorded the entire incident and thrashed the family for this cruel act.

Running the keyframes of the video through Reverse Image Search, the NM team found the original video on the Facebook handle Ankur Jatuskaran on December 16, 2022. On observing the video, we found that a disclaimer comes at 0:30 seconds of timestamp for a few seconds. The disclaimer remarks that the characters seen are fictional and that the video was made for entertainment. The characters and the incident seen in the video are solely for entertainment.
