Putting the video keyframes through a Reverse Image Search, our team came across a report by GeoTV on January 9, 2022, with a title: ‘Elderly woman in Sialkot publicly tortured over ‘land dispute’. The report carries a blurred vision of the viral video, saying that an elderly woman was grabbed by her hair and kicked over an alleged land dispute in Sialkot. After the video went viral, Sialkot police registered a case against 15 suspects and arrested nine. Out of these suspects, four were women. The victim said the incident occurred due to a “land dispute” that she had for the last 13 years.
According to a Dawn report, dated January 10, 2022, the police registered a case against 15 people and arrested nine of them for assaulting a woman over the land dispute. The incident reportedly occurred at the Palura Kalan village in Sialkot district.
The Inspector General of Punjab Police, Rao Sardar Ali Khan, had also noted the violent incident and sought a report from the regional police officer of Gujranwala and apprehend the suspects.
As per the tweets by Pakistan’s Punjab Police, the Sialkot police had arrested four women and one man for assaulting an elderly woman. The Sialkot police had also arrested four more suspects.
