NewsMobile fact-checked the viral post, and found it to be false.

Running a Reverse Image Search of the video keyframes, the NM team identified the still of the viral clip in a report by Indiatimes, dated October 26, 2021. As per the report, the MBBS students at Sher E Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) in Srinagar shouted slogans and lit firecrackers after Pakistan’s T20 World Cup victory.

Similar visuals were also found in the ABP News video report dated October 26, 2021. As per its description, a case had been registered against the students of SKIMS and GMC under the UAPA Act for raising Pakistan-supported slogans after its victory over India in the T20 World Cup.

Another media outlet, The Wire, reports that the Jammu and Kashmir Police registered two separate FIRs against the hostel wardens, the college management and students for allegedly raising “pro-Pakistan slogans” after Pakistan’s victory in the T-20 World Cup match.

Therefore, we can conclusively say that the video is almost two years old and viral with false claims.
