Another Thursday, another dose of hot Bollywood gossip over 3 cups of brewing coffee but with a ‘K’. It is because Koffee With Karan is back with its 7th episode of this season. Well, this episode featured the two bonafide Bollywood stars who are currently on their ‘A’ game be it professionally or personally. KJo correctly introduced them as the ‘Beauty’ and the ‘Bahadur’ of B-town. Well, the guests were Kiara Advani and Vicky Kaushal, and simply put, the episode was ‘sugar, spice and everything nice’.
Highlights of the episode:
Kiara’s oh-so-beautiful Rome proposal: We were all mesmerised for days after the Sid-Kiara wedding video had hit the internet. Made us want to know more about the love story of these two beautiful lovebirds. Well, the wait is over as after 9 months of being married, Kiara finally shared the deets of her dreamy proposal. Kiara shared, ‘It was our first family holiday with me and his family. I had a little bit of an inclination that he would propose. So, when we decided and told each other that this is what we want for the rest of our lives, I told him ‘All this is fine, but you have to speak to my parents’. And he said, ‘Are you kidding me?’ I said, ‘You first ask them and take their permission. Let’s do it the right way. They’ll be happy. My mom unfortunately had COVID so she couldn’t travel with us. My parents were in Mumbai. We went. We went with his parents.’
She further added, ‘It did come as a surprise because I didn’t know where on this trip and also in my head, I was like, I hope he does propose because now I’ve built it up. He did it. He took us to a Michelin-starred restaurant. And his nephew was with us, who was the one who was supposed to take the photos and capture the moment and everything. I am sleepy because I had just landed and joined them on this trip. He’s planned the works. He’s done the candlelight dinner on top. We go back after dinner. He takes me up. ‘Let’s go for a walk. We go up and suddenly the violinist comes out of the bushes playing and sweetly his little nephew is taking our video from the bushes. And Sid goes on one knee and proposes. I was so overwhelmed that I didn’t say anything. And he, after his whole speech, doesn’t know what to say to me. And then he starts saying the lines of Shershaah He’s like ‘Delhi ka seedha sadha launda hun…’ And then, I burst out laughing. It was really sweet.’
Vicky Kaushal’s impromptu proposal: We didn’t know we really needed a Bollywood love like this until Vicky and Katrina sealed the deal with their marriage. Now after being married to each other for almost two years now, still not much is known about the love story of this underdog couple of Bollywood. However, the stars were in our favour today, as Vicky also shared a very beautiful memory, where he proposed to Katrina a day before their wedding. The actor shared, that it was very last minute. I had been warned by everybody that if you don’t propose, it’s something that you have to be prepared for the rest of your life that you got to hear about it. I did that (proposed) one day before the wedding. The first night that we were there, we reached there and I planned a special dinner. So, there was a dinner just before any of the friends and families could come. They were all coming the next. It was just us. So yeah, it happened there.’
Vicky in all awe of SRK: Well, who doesn’t love SRK? Be it his contemporaries, the new age actors or anybody who was ever lucky enough to have met him in person, have talked about his aura, his charm, and why he so rightfully deserves the be called the ‘Badshah’. The same was the case with Vicky Kaushal during the shoot of ‘Dunki’. Talking about his experience working with SRK, the actor shared an incident. He said, ‘He (SRK) had to rush for some important work. It was a very critical kind of moment in the film for my character who was with him. And he just couldn’t be there for that shot. And I had to give that shot with a body double. Then he got done with his and everything and late in the night, he called. And I missed the call because there was an event.’
The actor further added, ‘And then he messaged me. A very long message saying, ‘Vicky, we’ll do that shot again. I am really sorry that I missed that. I couldn’t be there to give just the cues. And I couldn’t be there. We’ll do that shot again.’ And I had to call him and convince him that Raju sir was happy. And it went okay. There is no need. And I don’t know whether I’ll be able to do that again. I was nervous but he’s like ‘No, we’ll do that again. I’m feeling terrible that I wasn’t there.’ And then, the next day, he came on set. He saw those shots. He was happy with those shots. Only then he was ok that, ‘ok, we don’t have to reshoot to give my shoulder in the shot’ That’s him.’
Kiara the ‘late’ bride: Like any other normal wedding, the Sid-Kiara wedding also had some regular problems. One of them is the bride running really late. Since KJo had attended the royal Bollywood wedding, he shared this very interesting anecdote, which all the brides can completely relate to. the filmmaker said, ‘The baraat had reached the end of its tether. Ek hota hai ki baaraat ek energy ke saath shuru hoti hai. It started with vigour, then it went more vigour, the the vigour started reducing. Then everybody was tired. The heat was there. It was in Rajasthan. And finally, we were like, ‘Kaha hai yaar? (Where is she?)’. She was really late. By the end of it, you were really being bitched about.’
Vicky the ‘thoughtful’ husband: Later in the episode the two stars were sharing if they had ever done something because of their partner’s interest in it. To that, Vicky shared a very thoughtful anecdote. He said, ‘I have never understood art. She is fond of it. So, my first-year anniversary gift to her was a piece of art. And I’ve never really understood it.’ The actor further added, ‘She (Katrina) made ease into it. She showed me a lot of things. And then I genuinely like kind of got into it. Then we really got something that spoke to us. Now that wall is my favourite wall in the house.’
