FACT CHECK
NewsMobile fact-checked the viral post, and found it to be False.
Doing a Reverse Image Search on the video keyframes, the NM team traced a Facebook post by Shri Banke Bihari Ji Vrindavan with a similar image, dated May 22, 2017.
“बोलो वृंदावन बांके बिहारी लाल की जय “ (English translation: Today, the entire India will know about the introduction of this woman sitting outside the Banke Bihari temple. After some time, all our worships and prayers remain small in comparison to her devotion and love for Kanhaiya. The name of the woman who became widow at the age of just 20 is Yashoda, which is also meaningful, she takes care of the shoes and slippers. Today, after touching her feet, she and her family also took blessings because after collecting 5,10,25,50 rupees in the last 30 years, this woman has started the construction of a cow shed and a dharamshala with an amount of ₹40 lakh (40,00,000/-). We pay our respect to this mother of Kanha, Yashoda. “Say Vrindavan Banke Bihari Lal Ki Jai”.”
With a relevant keyword search on ‘Women donate 51 lakhs’, our team found a report by The Times of India, dated May 26, 2017, carrying similar visuals. As per the report, the 70-year-old widow had contributed ₹40 lakh, amassed over years of savings and sale of her property, towards the construction of a cowshed and a dharamshala in Vrindavan. And her original name is Phoolwati, not Yashoda as claimed in the viral post.
Hence, we can conclusively say that the image in the video is old and unrelated to Ram Temple.
