A video is going viral on social media where some people holding the Khalistani flag can be seen playing with the Indian national flag by turning it into a football. The video is being shared with a claim that it is from the ongoing farmers’ protest.
The post read, “पहचानो फर्क! किसान नहीं खालिस्तानी va Sri Son X … तिरंगे का अपमान, देश का अपमान, सिर्फ भारत विरोधी ही कर सकते हैं”

NewsMobile fact-checked the post and found the video to be old.
We broke the video into some keyframes and put them through the reverse image tool on Google. The search led us to the same video on YouTube which was uploaded on July 26, 2023.
On searching further, we came across the video posted by a Twitter user on July 24, 2023, where the scene from the viral video can be seen. The caption read, “These spineless people are kicking the flag of their own country, what good can these immigrants do for the country that’s using them as vote banks…one day they’ll be a problem for the ones giving them leverage and protection. Do these foreign countries think they’ll go back to?”

We also found a post on Twitter by a user named Anshul Saxena dated July 12, 2023. The user had uploaded a video in this post. Where in the viral video a man can be seen playing football with the Indian flag. Although this obtained video is different from the viral video, the person playing football with the Indian flag is the same person who is in the viral video as well as here.
An Indian man tried his best to defend the honour of Indian flag when Khalistan supporters were abusing India & Bharat Mata.
Just condemnation is not enough, now, Govt of India must revoke OCI/PIO cards of anti-India elements.

On watching the video further, we found that another person tries to pull the flag with a football but the Khalistani supporters start fighting him, meanwhile, the police in the area start intervening. After watching the police report, it became clear that the viral video was from Canada.
Searching with some other keywords, we a report on Times Now, where it was reported that Khalistan supporters insulted the Indian national flag during demonstrations outside Indian Consulates in Canada.
Thus from the above report, it is clear that the video is not related to the ongoing farmers’ protest.
