New Delhi: In a tragic incident, a student in Florida lost his life in a Jet Ski crash on Saturday.
27-year-old Venkataramana Pittala who hailed from Telangana was pursuing a Master’s degree in health informatics at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI).
WHAT HAPPENED?
- As per the local reports, the incident took place at the Fury Playground at Wisteria Island on March 9 just after 1:30 PM (Local Time). On the jet ski involved in the collision was ridden by a 14-year-old boy who is said to have escaped unscathed.
- Venkataramana was from Kazipet in Telangana. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in physiotherapy from the NTR University of Health Sciences in Andhra Pradesh.
- According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, a person cannot operate a personal watercraft in the state of Florida until they are 14 years old.
Reportedly, so far in 2024, as many as eight Indian-origin students lost their lives in the US.
